Derek and Silvy Making Tracks 2009

Silvy has sung with pianist Derek Paravicini on a number of occasions since she first met him about twenty years ago.The natural progression was to record the two artists together. The resulting CD will be sold in aid of the Amber trust and the Cork Neonatal unit,Eire. Derek was born very prematurely , weighing just over a pound.He is blind and has severe learning disabilities. His musicianship, however is nothing short of miraculous.He is now 27 years old and living proof of what music can do to enhance a blind person's life. The Amber Trust was set up in the early 1990s to pay for music lessons, music therapy sessions, musical instruments and software, concert tickets and travel related to musical activities. Silvy was introduced to Derek by a very good friend ,who earlier this year had a baby born at 28 weeks. Baby Fred sadly did not survive. This CD will be in memory of Fred.
