Brittany exhibition goes to Paris

Silvy's photographs of Brittany will be exhibited for a month at the Maison de la Bretagne in Montparnasse, Paris for the month of September. Silvy will be there for the opening of the show o September 8th 2008.

SPRING FLING 2008 24-26 May

Silvy will be participating in this year's Spring Fling event between 24-26th May. Here you will see a collection of new work in her studio and a barn close by. Her studio is number 21 on the map . All brochures can be ordered through the www.spring-fling.co.uk website.

Photography residency in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain. September 2007

This year, Silvy waas invited to be Photographer in residence in the South of Spain. Brandy de Jerez invited Silvy to visit for ten days in order to capture the spirit of the region and their product. Resulting in a book and exhibitions .

Success at the Spring Fling 2007

This year's Spring Fling Open studio event was a roaring success.Silvy shared her studio and exhibition space with 'New Face' Naomi Lethbridge. Not only was it fun showing with another artist but the diversity of work on show was well received. "Best Flingette we've seen" ,"Wonderful" ,"Amazing","Truly inspiring","Fourth studio visited today,first one that has really caught my eye" are just some of the raptuous testimonials received.

Photographic exhibition in Brittany April -September 2007

Silvy and three other Scottish photographers were selected to be Artists in residence with the Brittany Tourist Board in 2006.The results of their photographic residencies will be exhibited across Brittany between April and September 2007. CARNAC 14th-28th April. St CAST:30th April-13th May. ROSCOFF 14th -27th May. CARANTEC 18th -30th June. FOUESNANT 6th-19th August. St QUAY PX:1st -15th September.

Silvy gets promoted from page 3 to the front cover of "Art Work"

Artist development award from the Scottish Arts Council

Silvy is delighted to have been awarded by the Scottish Arts Council with funding for artistic development. Silvy has spent a week with blacksmith John Gibson learning the skills of welding and engineering with the view to extending her artistic repertoir working with metal.This has increasingly preoccupied Silvy in recent years.

December 2006 The Cart Before the Horse, The Maxwellton Gallery, Dumfries

Silvy has been selected to show in a new exhibition at the Maxwelltown Gallery ,Dumfries, where artists are given finished frames by Alex Girdwood and then invited to create work that fits the frame. The show opens on Sunday 3rd December 2006.
